About the Event
This exhibition is a result of the juried contest conducted by Artios Gallery. The submitted portfolios were quite impressive and made the selection process challenging. Artists from Europe, the UK, the US, Russia, China, and Latin America expressed their interest in our show. Because many of them presented thematic series, we have decided to increase the number of exhibited artworks so the viewers can deeply understand the artists’ message.
There were different interpretations of the "Art of Being Alone" exhibition theme. Here we had the whole palette of every aspect of a quarantine life – from self-portraits to the family and urban scenes, from beautiful nude paintings to lonely landscapes and nostalgic memories of travels.
Because of an unexpected global pandemic crisis, a notion of Surrealism became our Reality. Cloistered in homes, everyone had plenty of time for reflection and self-observation. Struggling with new challenges, people tried to find a balance in everyday life. For artists, this struggle has ended in one possible and productive way – the creation of ART!
